Effective immediately, smartphone owners can access all important information on the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship directly and free of charge via the new ‘2012 IIHF WM App powered by ŠKODA’. The app delivers live results, with a push option available, standings, team and player profiles, game venues, WM news, highlight videos, games, ŠKODA information and lots more. The new app will work with any major smartphone operating system such as iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

“ŠKODA has a high digital expertise, which is intelligently embodied in our cars. True to our ‘Simply Clever’ brand slogan, we are now bringing this expertise to bear at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in a practical and simultaneously entertaining fashion. This is why we decided to develop the smartphone app as ‘2012 IIHF WM App powered by ŠKODA’ together with the IIHF,” explains Jürgen Stackmann, ŠKODA board member for sales and marketing, adding: “The app is aimed at ice hockey fans the world over, but also at professional groups involved with the WM, such as media, officials, organisers, teams and sponsors, all of whom can benefit free of charge from the advantages of this clever offer.”
